Freemasonry

Article Index

THIS SCRIPT HAS BEEN RESEARCHED AND PREPARED BY DAVID DIDOW, A BELIEVER AND AN EX-MASON, TO ASSIST FELLOW BELIEVERS IN WITNESSING TO BROTHER CHRISTIANS WHO ARE MEMBERS OF THE MASONIC LODGE.

THE SITUATION:

  • That some fellow Christians are also members of the Masonic Lodge.
  • We all know the high profile of the Masonic Organisation, its social acceptance, the good works of the Shriners and the prominent people that belong as members. In the secular world it is a fraternity into which many people seek membership.
  • The question that should be asked is, "How does God see this organisation in the light of his scriptures" and "Would He want you to take oaths binding yourself to Freemasonry?"
  • Freemasonry claims that the Holy Bible is a part of the furniture of the Lodge and is one of its great lights, together with the square and the compass. The Holy Bible always lies open on the Masonic Altar when the Lodge is in session.
  • Upon close examination of Freemasonry and the Holy Bible, the situation that comes into focus is that the Holy Bible actually condemns the teaching of Freemasonry, even though it is placed on the Masonic Altar.
  • Many organisations carry the Holy Bible, but do not follow its teachings, such as the Mormons, Jehovah Witnesses, Unity School of Christianity, Christian Science and Freemasonry. Those organisations redefine biblical terms and then use the Holy Bible as a cover-up in an attempt to conceal their true philosophy. Can a Christian who accepts the Holy Bible as the only true revelation of God to man, really stay on as a member of a Masonic Lodge if the truth about Freemasonry were pointed out to him?
  • I, David Didow, a fellow Christian, was a Freemason for twenty eight years and was initiated into the Scottish Rite and the Eastern Star, and was a Worshipful Master of my Masonic Lodge. As a carnal Christian, I did not see the deception until after I was born again and the Holy Spirit began to work in my life and I was shown the deception I was involved in. After my conversion, I told my pastor that I was a Mason. He laid no guilt trip on me but just said, "If I were you, I'd look into it." And that I did. For seven years I have been researching and studying Freemasonry and this paper is the result of my study. As a fellow-Christian, I am saddened to know that other fellow believers are being deceived by the fine sounding teachings of Freemasonry.

THE CONCERN:

  • The teachings of Freemasonry are in direct opposition to the Holy Bible.
  • Many cults carry the Holy Bible but claim that the biblical account is incomplete and-- that there is a higher revelation from another source.
  • This higher revelation exists in Freemasonry and this extra biblical revelation is the taproot of every cult.
  • This presentation of my research is not an attack on any person, least of all on a fellow Christian.
  • There are Christian brothers who have a deep concern for their Masonic Christian brothers. This concern is not of a spirit of condemnation, but of a spirit of deep brotherly concern in Christian love for a fellow believer.
  • The purpose of this presentation is to show a fellow believer the deception of the Masonic Organisation.
  • It is possible for a person to be sincere and yet be utterly and totally deceived as we can see when we talk to members of the Mormons or Jehovah Witnesses.
  • As a fellow believer, I have a deep concern for Christian believers who are being deceived by the religion of Freemasonry, and this situation must be addressed by a close examination of the teachings of Freemasonry.

THE EXAMINATION OF FREEMASONRY:

Before we can examine Freemasonry, we have to establish who are the authorities of Freemasonry, and what books on Masonic Doctrine have these Masons written. I believe the following books and authors are a fair representative list of Masonic authoritative works.

1. Coils Masonic Encyclopaedia - H.W. Coil 33 degree

2. Encyclopaedia of Freemasonry - Albert G. Mackey 33 degree

3. Morals & Dogma - Albert Pike 33 degree

4. Lost Keys of Freemasonry - Manly Hall - 33 degree

5. Spirit of Freemasonry - Foster Bailey

6. The Work No. E458

7. The Meaning of Masonry - W.L. Wilmshurst (Renowned Historian)

8. Scottish Rite Masonry, Illustrated - J. Blanchard

9. The Masonic Holy Bible

Note: The Holy Bible has to be included in this list, as it is the Great Light of Freemasonry. The Masonic Bible is given to every newly initiated Mason after he completes the third degree.

I believe it is only fair that we do not use any books written by ex-Masons for the purpose of exposing the organisation, but that we examine Freemasonry by the writings of their own authorities, by those books that are in Masonic libraries which can be examined by a Masonic Christian to establish the accuracy of what we are going to say in the following pages.

What methods of deception does the Masonic organisation use to carry out their purpose?

A. Here lies a colossal deception, binding its members by oaths to an organisation which sells itself as a fraternal order whose purpose is to promote a system of morality and brotherly love. Yet, in itself, it is a it religion" and is falsely imposing religious beliefs on its members. To cover this deception, a candidate is told that membership in the Masonic Organisation will not interfere with him practising his own religion.

B. Masonry uses false interpretation of its symbols. A. Pike, in his book, Morals & Dogma, Page 819 - states:

"The Blue Degrees are but the outer court or portico of the Temple. Part of the symbols are displayed there to the Initiate, but he is intentionally misled by false interpretations. It is not intended that he shall understand them; but it is intended that he shall imagine he understands them.- Their true explication is reserved for the Adepts, the Princes of Masonry."

C. Keeping its members busy performing ritual over and over again to attain perfection in performing this ritual with no teaching. This causes a member's heart to be hardened by repetitious, empty ritual.

D. Misuse of Scripture:- In the back of the Masonic Bible there is a list of biblical verses of special interest to Freemasonry. Their use is strictly to support ritual. Fragmented biblical attention is another mark of a cult.

E. Proclaiming the Holy Bible to be a Great Light of Freemasonry, yet in their writings you see that the Kabalah is a book of higher revelation, and this book is introduced to you in the 4th degree of the Scottish Rite. A. Pike - Morals & Dogma Page 745 states: "One is filled with admiration, on penetrating into the Sanctuary of the Kabalah, at seeing a doctrine so logical, so simple, and at the same time so absolute. The necessary union of ideas and signs, the consecration of the most fundamental realities by the primitive characters; the Trinity of Words, Letters and Numbers; a philosophy simple as the alphabet, profound and infinite."

F. Oaths given to candidates before the candidate can learn the content of them.Is a Mason, especially a Christian Mason, bound to keep such oaths?

Here is what the Holy Bible advises him to do:

"If a person swears, speaking thoughtlessly with his lips to do evil or to do good, whatever it is that a man may pronounce by an oath, and it is hidden from him - when he realises it, then he shall be guilty in any of these matters. And it shall be, when he is guilty in any of these matters, that he shall confess treat he has sinned in that thing; and he shall bring his trespass offering to the Lord for his sin which he has sinned. ... So the priest shall make atonement on his behalf for his sin which he has sinned, and it shall be forgiven him. (Leviticus 5:4-6a, 10b)

The Bible provides a way of escape for those who swear an oath in ignorance. If they have transgressed God's moral law, they are to immediately confess that sin and repent. In the Old Testament a person was to go to the priest, confess that he had sinned, and offer a sacrifice for atonement. Today, a Christian is to come to his eternal High Priest - the Lord Jesus Christ - who died on the cross for his sin. He is to acknowledge that he is guilty of swearing wrongly and repent of his oath, asking for forgiveness and acknowledging that he will obey God.

IS FREEMASONRY A RELIGION?

What is Religion?

Webster's Dictionary states religion to be "the feeling of reverence which man entertains towards a Supreme Being, the recognition of God as an object of worship, love and obedience.

Funk & Wagnell "New Standard Dictionary" as quoted from Coil's Masonic Encyclopaedia, Page 512, states:

"defines Religion as: "A belief in an invisible superhuman power (or powers), conceived of after the analogy of the human spirit, on which (or whom) man regards himself as dependent, and to which (or whom) he thinks himself in some degree responsible, together with the feelings and practices which naturally flow from such belief." This comes close to defining Freemasonry as many writers have defined it saying that the father- hood of God and the brotherhood of man is the whole story. Freemasonry certainly requires a belief in the existence of, and man's dependence upon, a Supreme Being to whom he is responsible. What can a church add to that, except to bring into one fellowship those who have like feelings? That is exactly what the Lodge does."

In the Blue Lodge, a candidate is told the following:

The Work, Page 29 states:

"The S. Obs. you are required to take are taken in the name of God, and, when once taken, can never be laid aside or repudiated. Yet I am free to inform you that these Obs. contain nothing that can conflict with your duty to God, your country, your neighbour, or yourself. With this pledge on my part, as W.M. of this [ ], I ask you are you willing to take such Obs. as all E. As. have done before you?"

The idea that Freemasonry may be a religion is taken from the candidate's head by the above statement, during the 1st degree initiation.

Masonic authorities all state that Freemasonry is a "religion".

1. Coil's Masonic Encyclopaedia, Page 512, states:

"(c) Belief; Creed; Tenet; Dogma. Does Freemasonry have creed (I believe) or tenet (he holds) or dogma (I think) to which all members must adhere? Does Freemasonry continually teach and insist upon a creed, tenet and dogma? Does it have meetings characterised by the practice of rites and ceremonies in and by which its creed, tenet and dogma are illustrated by myths, symbols and allegories? If Freemasonry were not religion, what would have to be done to make it such? Nothing would be necessary or at least nothing but to add more of the same. That brings us to the real crux of the matter; the difference between a lodge and a church is one of degree and not of kind. Some think that, because it is not a strong or highly dogmatised religion such as the Roman Catholic Church where it is difficult to tell whether the congregation is worshipping God, Christ, or the Virgin Mary, it can be no religion at all. But a church of Friends (Quakers) exhibits even less formality and ritual than does a Masonic lodge. The fact that Freemasonry is a mild religion does not mean that it is no religion."

2. A. Mackey in Encyclopaedia of Freemasonry, page 618, 619, states under the title of "Religion of Masonry. There has been a needless expenditure of ingenuity and talent,by a large number of Masonic orators and essayists, in the endeavour to prove that Masonry is not religion. This has undoubtedly arisen from a well- intended but erroneous view that has been taken of the connection between religion and Masonry. ....Masonry may rightfully claim to be called a religious institution....But the religion of Masonry is not sectarian. It admits men of every creed within its hospitable bosom, rejecting none and approving none for his peculiar faith." 3. The Spirit of Freemasonry - Foster Bailey, page 29, states: Masonry is the descendant of, or is . founded upon, a divinely imparted religion which long antedates the prime date of creation as given in our Bible. Masonry and its allegorical rituals, and its symbols and numbers, is all that remains to us of the first world religion which flourished in an antiquity so old that it is impossible to affix a date."

4. Morals and Dogma - A Pike, Page 213 states: "Every Masonic Lodge is a temple of religion; and its teachings are instruction in religion." "Masonry (is that religion) around whose altars the Christian, the Hebrew, the Moslem, the Brahman, the followers of Confucius and Zoroaster, can assemble as brethren and unite in prayer to the one God who is above all the Baalim.

5. Lost Keys of Freemasonry - Manly Hall, Page xxiv - Introduction states: "Freemasonry is a philosophy which is essentially creedless. It is the truer for it . ..... No truer religion exists than that of world comradeship and brotherhood, for the purpose of glorifying one God and building for Him a temple of constructive attitude and noble character."

6. The Meaning of Masonry - W.L. Wilmshurst, page 74 states:

"Masonry, then, is a system of religious philosophy in that it provides us with a doctrine of the universe and of our place in it."

7. The Masonic Bible with the Masonic emblem on its cover, by association, suggests that Freemasonry is a religion, though its doctrines are contrary to those of the Holy Bible.

HOW IS FREEMASONRY INCOMPATIBLE WITH CHRISTIANITY?

The doctrine of "the Fatherhood of God and the Brotherhood of Man" is the central doctrine of Freemasonry. This doctrine is unscriptural and entirely incompatible with Christian doctrine.

Masonry believes that, because God.is the Creator of all people, all people are automatically His spiritual sons, in right standing with Him. But here Masonry makes a false assumption. It assumes men are in right standing with God simply because He-created them. But the Bible says all men have freely chosen to disobey God and have sinned. Therefore, they are not in right standing with God; they are sinners who justly stand under His condemnation and deserve His punishment.

God created Adam and Eve and gave them the right to obey or disobey Him. Man chose to disobey God and lost his perfect relationship his sinless standing - before God. We today have followed in Adam's and Eve's footsteps, rebelling against God's laws, and we too deserve the righteous judgement of God. Masonry contradicts the Bible and teaches that even though we have sinned and maintain our rebellion against God, God will still honour and reward us.

Masonry holds that God is the Father of every man, regardless of his religious belief. There is a sense in which God is the Father of all men. We accept that the attributes of fatherhood are biblically applied to all people only by virtue that He created mankind.

WHAT IS THE MASONIC POSITION ON THIS DOCTRINE?

In the 'Liturgy of Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite, adherents are told: "Believe that there is a God; that he is our father;.that he has a paternal interest in our welfare and improvement; ... that he has destined us to a future life of endless progress toward perfection and a knowledge of himself." According to Masonic authority Carl H. Claudy; "Among the most beautiful of Freemasonry's symbols, these [symbols revealing Masonic teachings] express at the very beginning the fundamental principle of Freemasonry: the Fatherhood of God, and the brotherhood of man."

What we should understand is this: although God may be the Father of all people, this does not make all people His spiritual children. This allows us to preserve the all-important concept of universal father- hood without denying the genuine need of people to repent and have faith in Jesus Christ. When we criticise the Masonic doctrine of God's fatherhood, we are specifically taking exception to Masonry's assumption that the fatherhood of God also demands the conclusion that all Masons are thereby sons of God. Biblically, sonship comes only by personal faith in Jesus Christ.

In the Lost Keys of Freemasonry - Manly Hall, Page 35 states: "The voice speaks from the Heavens, its power thrilling the Master until his own being seems filled with its divinity, saying, "This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased."

Here, if a Mason adheres to the Masonic obligations and rites, he will be called by God, "my beloved Son" a title only reserved for Jesus Christ.

The Bible's teaching on this point is strong and clear. It cannot be ignored or dismissed. Only the believer in Christ is God's true child: "See how great a love the Father has bestowed upon us, that we should be called children of God, and such we are.For this reason the world does not know us, because it did not know Him" (1 John3:1, cf Romans 9:27). Those who do not accept God's free gift of salvation, those who do not believe in Christ, cannot possibly be God's children (John 13:3-16).

Only those to whom God has given the Holy Spirit and who are led by the Spirit of God are God's children: "For all who are being led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God ... The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God and if children, heirs also, heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him in order that we may also be glorified with Him" (Romans 8:14,16-17)

In the end, all men are either living for God or living for self, whether they realise this or not. There are true sons of.God, but there are also rebellious sinners who are sons of the "evil one."

One of the strongest statements in all of the Masonic ritual concerning the true goal of Masonry polarises the issue.

Scottish Rite Masonry Illustrated - J. Blanchard Vol. 2, Page 263, 264 states: "In all the preceding degrees you must have observed that the object of Scotch Masonry is to overthrow all kinds of superstition, and that by admitting in her bosom on the terms of the strictest equality, the members of all religions, of all creeds and of all countries, without any distinction whatever, she has, and indeed can have, but one single object and that is to restore to the Grand Architect of the Universe; to the common father of the human race those who are lost in the maze of impostures, invented for the sole purpose of enslaving them. The Knights Kadosh recognise no particular religion, and for that reason we demand of you nothing more than to worship God. And whatever may be the religious forms imposed upon you by superstition at a period of your life when you were incapable of discerning truth from falsehood, we do not even require you to relinquish them. Time and study alone can enlighten you. But remember that you will never be a true mason unless you repudiate forever all superstitions and prejudices."

This ritual quotation from the 30th Degree reveals four important truths concerning Masonic goals:

1. This citation reveals the core belief of Masonry; the doctrine of the fatherhood of God.

2. Masonry had promised the candidate in its-earlier degrees that it would not hinder him from following his own religious beliefs. But here it shows that this was only a ruse - a lie- in order to get a person started in Masonry. The goal of the Lodge was always to eventually change the person's original beliefs. And notice: ,original religious beliefs are labelled as superstition-."

3. This ritual also teaches that all men are lost - in spiritual darkness - and not true Masons until they accept this premise.

4. This statement reveals that the true goal of the Masonic Lodge is to have its initiates finally drop and repudiate their previous religious beliefs - their "superstitions and prejudices" - and to accept the final and only truth of Masonry.

In conclusion, the Bible teaches that all men are God's offspring by virtue of their creation by God. But they are not His spiritual children. This is obvious from the fact that Jesus gives to those who believe on Him the right to become children of God. God does not have an intimate father/son relationship with all people. It seems Masonry has forgotten, or chosen to ignore, the account of man's Fall in Genesis. The Bible teaches that man, through disobedience to God, sinned and broke his spiritual relationship with God. Now God commands all people everywhere to repent." To repent means that we must be willing to turn away from our beliefs and our own way of doing things, and turn to and act on God's promises and instructions.

The Bible states the following:

"And you were dead in your trespasses and sins, in which you formerly walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, of the spirit (Satan) and that is now working in the sons of disobedience. Ephesians 2:1-2.

But Masonry denies all of this 4m it teaches that there are no if sons of disobedience" or "children of the devil" but that all men are by -nature sons and children of God. As we have seen, the ritual also teaches that all Masons are erecting a temple in their hearts so that God can dwell in it. But scripture teaches that only the bodies of believers in Christ can be called the temple of God.

The Bible states the following:

"Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you really knew me, you would know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him." (John 14:6-7).

"Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved. (Acts 4:12).

"For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all men - the testimony given in its proper time. (1 Timothy 2:5-6).

How can Christian Masons continue to participate in the Lodge when it teaches that all men are already children of God and acceptable to Him? How can they remain in the Lodge-when it teaches men that they do not need to place their faith in Jesus Christ?

Another way that Freemasonry is incomparable with Christianity is that it seems to be a universal religion. Here they claim to be the uniting force of all world religions under one Masonic God, the Grand Architect of the Universe.

Albert Mackey in his Encyclopaedia of Freemasonry, page 149 states-.

"If Masonry were simply a Christian institution, the Jew and the Moslem,- the Brahman and the Buddhist, could not conscientiously partake of its illumination. But its universality is its boast. In its language citizens of every nation may converse, at its altar men of all religions may kneel; to its creed disciples of every faith may subscribe.

The doctrine of the Brotherhood of Man is well understood when one considers the union of all world religions under the Masonic religion.

What are the Marks of a Cult, and what is the acid test in determining whether an organisation is a cult.

Marks are as follows:

  • Extrabiblical Revelation
  • A False Basis of Salvation
  • Uncertain Hope
  • Presumptuous Messianic Leadership
  • Doctrinal Ambiguity
  • The Claim of "Special Discoveries"
  • Defective Christology
  • Segmented Biblical Attention
  • Enslaving Organisational Structure

The acid test of a Cult are-

  • View of the Holy Bible
  • View of God
  • View of Jesus Christ
  • Mode of Salvation

If an organisation is not in line with the biblical views on the above four points, it is dead wrong and can be called a "Cult."

SCRIPTURAL EXAMINATION OF FREEMASONRY:

1. Masonic view of the Holy Bible If we are to look at Freemasonry in a realistic manner, we will have to examine Freemasonry in the light of its Great Light, the Holy Bible, to see if the view of the Holy Bible is the same in Freemasonry as it is in Christianity.

2. .Christianity views the Holy Bible as the inspired, infallible and inerrant Word of God. (taken from the Believers Statement of Faith.

3. What does Freemasonry say about the Holy Bible? The Masonic Bible given to each Mason upon completion of the 3rd Degree (Master Mason Degree) states the following about the Holy Bible. Page 26 of the 32 page addendum to the Masonic Bible "The Bible itself has a similar multiplicity of uses and meanings; it is the Bible and at the same time is the Volume of the Sacred Law; it is the Book of the Old and New Testaments and at the same time represents each of the world Bibles, and may be replaced by the Koran, the Zend Avesta, the Vedas, etc.: it lies on the Altar and yet does not have possession of it because the Square and Compasses lie on the Altar with it; it is the textbook of the Christian and Jewish religions yet the Lodge does not use it as a textbook because the Lodge is not a church and has no theology - the Lodge uses it as the literature of religion; and yet though it is a book of religion it is at the same time for Masonry a legal book also, because it gives sanction to the Obligations;

What is Freemasonry saying here?

1. That the Holy Bible represents all the world Bibles, all the holy books of all world religions.

2. That the Holy Bible can be replaced by any of the world's Volumes of the Sacred Law. I have included a list of volumes of the Sacred Law from Coil's Masonic Encyclopaedia - Page 674.

"Volume of the Sacred Law (V.S.L.). The various Volumes of Sacred Law or Writings are:

  • The Pentateuch or the Old Testament of the Hebrews
  • The New Testament of the Christians though some would include the Holy Bible
  • the Koran of the 'Mohammedans or Islam
  • the Zend Avesta of the Persians
  • the Tripitaka of the Buddhists
  • the Rig Veda and other Vedas of the Brahmins
  • the Tao Te King of the Taoists of China
  • the Bhagavad-Gita of the Hindus
  • the Book of Mormon of the Latter Day Saints.

3. That the Bible use is only a legal book upon which to obligate candidates.

4. That the Lodge does not use it as a textbook for teaching Divine Law.

5. Coil, in his book, Coil's Masonic Encyclopaedia, Page 520, states that it is not looked upon as God's Divine Law inspired and revealed.

"The prevailing Mason,-. opinion is that the Bible is only a symbol of Divine Will, Law or Revelation, and not that its contents are Divine Law, inspired or revealed. So far, no responsible authority has held that a Freemason must believe the Bible or any part of it. Also, that it is not necessary to believe any of its contents.

6. The Holy Bible is considered as a piece of furniture of the Lodge. Encyclopaedia of Freemasonry - A. Mackey, page 286 states:

"Furniture of the Lodge: The Bible, square and compass are technically said to constitute the furniture of a Lodge.

7. That the Holy Bible is incomplete. This is the taproot of every cult. That there is a higher, more knowledgeable revelation. Morals & Dogma - A. Pike, page 744, states:

"The Bible, with all the allegories it contains, expresses, in an incomplete and veiled manner only, the religious science of the Hebrews. The doctrine of Moses and the Prophets, identical at bottom with that of the ancient Egyptians, also had its outward meaning and its veils. The Hebrew books were written only to recall to memory the traditions; and they were written in symbols unintelligible to the profane.

8. That the Holy Bible is a collection of monstrous absurdities. Morals & Dogma - A. Pike, Page 745 states:

"The Pentateuch and the prophetic poems were merely elementary books of doctrine, morals and liturgy; and the true secret and traditional philosophy was only written afterward, under veils still less transparent. Thus was a second Bible born, unknown to, or rather uncomprehended by, the Christians; a collection, they say, of monstrous absurdities; a monument, the adept says, wherein is everything that the genius of philosophy and that of religion have ever formed or imagined of the sublime; a treasure surrounded by thorns; a diamond concealed in a rough dark stone."

9. That the Kabalah (the key to the Hebrew occult) is a revelation to be admired. Morals & Dogma - A. Pike Page 745, states:

"One is filled with admiration, on penetrating into the Sanctuary of the Kabalah, at seeing a doctrine so logical, so simple, and at the same time so absolute."

Encyclopaedia of Freemasonry - A. Mackey, Page 375 states:

"Buxtorf (Lex.. Talm.) defines the Kabbala to be a secret science, which treats in mystical and enigmatical manner of things divine, angelical, theological, celestial and metaphysical; the subjects being enveloped in striking symbols.and secret modes of teaching. Much use is made of it in high degrees, and entire Rites have been constructed on its principles. Hence it demands a place in any general work on Masonry. The first mention of the veneration of the Kabalah is in the initiation of the 4th Degree in the Scottish Rite.

10. That to require a profession in the belief in the Holy Bible as a prerequisite to initiation is in direct opposition to the expressed regulations of Freemasonry. Encyclopaedia of Freemasonry - A. Mackey, page 672, states:

"Although in Christendom very few Masons deny the Divine authority of the scriptures of the Old and New Testaments, yet to require, as a preliminary to initiation, the declaration of such a belief, is directly in opposition to the express regulations of the Order,-which demand a belief in God and, by implication, in the immorality of the soul as the only religious tests.

The God mentioned in the above quote refers to a God, but not the God of the Holy Bible. "Is he meaning the Masonic God?"

In conclusion - the masonic view of the Holy Bible is in direct opposition to the Believer's Statement of Faith regarding the Holy Bible, and a believer who has given his oath to an organisation that has the above view of the Holy Bible, cannot seriously partake in the Christian faith.

In addition, it is most interesting to see what a leading Masonic authority has to say about the Masonic Bible. Here, he is referring to the 32 page Addendum at the front of the King James Version of the Holy Bible. Coil's Masonic Encyclopaedia, page 518-519 states:

"There has been and still is a great deal of proselyting for the creeds of various denominations in the Society and certainly a great deal for the Bible, especially a type of book called the Masonic Bible, often containing unauthorised additions, explanations, fictitious Masonic history and doctrine, but generally leading up to the conclusion that Freemasonry and the Bible are the same!"

Here, the author is acknowledging that the 32-page Addendum to the Masonic Bible is an attempt to deceive the candidate.

Here is an example of the misuse of scripture in Freemasonry. In the initiation of the 4th Degree in the Scottish Rite, Solomon here is reading Scripture, taken from Scottish Rite Masonry Illustrated J. Blanchard, Page 45, Quote: it Solomon - While the Lord reigneth, let the people tremble, he sitteth between the cherubims; let the earth be moved; Praise ye the Lord - praise, 0 ye servants of the Lord, praise ye the name of the Lord. Blessed be the name of the Lord from this time forth forevermore; From the rising of the Sun unto'. the going down of the same, the Lord's name is to be praised; The Lord is high above all nations, and his glory above the Heavens - Praise ye the Lord, praise him, O ye servants of the Lord, ye that stand in the house of the Lord - in the Courts of the house of our God, praise the Lord for the Lord is good - sing praises unto his name for it is pleasant: For the Lord had chosen Jacob unto himself, and Israel for his peculiar treasure: Let them praise the name of the Lord - for his name alone is excellent; his glory is above the Earth and Heaven-Thy name, 0 Lord endureth forever, and thy memorial throughout all generations: Bless the Lord -0, my soul.-. and all that is within me bless his holy name."

Upon close examination of this scripture reading, I find that the above passage is a collection of verses from the Psalms, namely Psalm 99, 135, 113 and 103. These collection of verses are so set up as to worship a God that is void of the other two persons of the Trinity, makin2 this so called scripture line up with the concept of the Masonic God, who is not the God of the Holy Bible, if we take into consideration the Masonic view of the Holy Bible.

If you regard the Holy Bible to be the true word of God and you have taken oaths to an organisation that regards the Holy Bible in terms I have shown you, as a Christian you are living a contradiction and you must consider your position.

What is the Masonic view of God? Pure logic tells you that if: 1. the Holy Bible can be replaced by other volumes of Sacred Law 2. If a belief in the God of the Holy Bible not necessary for membership 3. If there are higher extra biblical revelations 4. If the Holy Bible is looked upon as only a symbol of Divine Law, a piece of furniture in a Lodge then the God of Freemasonry is not the God of the Holy Bible and the questions asked a candidate during the initiation of the 1st Degree are a deception.

Then, who is the God of Freemasonry?

1. He is an umbrella God, that Masonic God that swallows into himself all the Gods of all the world religions, including the God of Christianity. The Grand Architect of the Universe (the Masonic God) to whose glory the Masonic Bible is dedicated, is not the God of the Holy Bible.

2. The Masonic God is a trinity, but not in the trinity of the Holy Bible. The trinity of the Masonic God is represented in the Lodge by three burning candles surrounding the Masonic Altar in a triangular,.f-ashion. The Works, Page 33 - quote-. "The T.L. Ls are the S., M , And the W.M. rule and govern his [] with, equal regularity. They are represented by three burning tapers situated in a triangular position about the A.

3. This trinity is the Sun, Moon and Worshipful Master of the Lodge, who represents the Masonic God in the Lodge, who is identified with Horus, the son of the widow Isis, the Moon Goddess of Egypt, and the Sun is Osiris the Sun God of Egypt. This may sound strange to you, but here is what A. Pike, in Morals & Dogma, page 87, states:

"Now the Egyptians arranged their deities in Triads - the Father or the Spirit or Active Principle or Generative Power; the Mother, of Matter, or the passive Principle, or the Conceptive Power; and the Son, Issue or Product, the Universe, proceeding from the two principles. These were Osiris, Isis, and Horus. In the same way, Plato gives us Thought the Father; Primitive Matter the Mother; and Kosmos the World, the Son, the Universe animated by a soul. Triads of the same kind are found in the Kabalah.

You see every Mason is a widow's son, not the widows son that is implied in the 3rd Degree (Hiram abiff), but as stated by one of the Masonic authorities. Lost Keys of Freemasonry - Manly Hall, page 109, states: "In Egypt, the Mysteries, or institutions of philosophic rebirth, were called Isis and those born out of the temple were designated the Sons of Isis. Now, through the death of Osiris, her husband, this goddess had donned the badges of mourning and through the loss of the Word (symbolised by the phallus-or Osiris), had become the great Widow. Hence, those born our of her, the philosophic elect, were termed the Widow's Sons, a designation which has clung to Freemasons, even in this age.

4. The Egyptian trinity of Sun Worship is represented in the Masonic Lodge as well as in the Past Master s Jewel, which a Worshipful Master of a Lodge wears after he has completed his term of office. The trinity is hidden in the 47th problem of Euclid and covered over by the lecture on Geometry. Whether you know it or not, this is the trinity to which you have bound yourself by the Masonic Oath. You see the Worshipful Master of your Lodge represents the Sun, who in ancient Sun Worship was Osiris or under other names. Encyclopaedia of Freemasonry - A. Mackey, Page 800 states:

"'The right-angled triangle is another form of this figure which is deserving of attention. Among the Egyptians, it was the symbol of universal nature; the base representing Osiris or the male principle; the perpendicular, Isis, or the female principle; and the hypotenuse, Horus, their son, or the product of the male and female principle.

This symbol was received by Pythagoras from the Egyptians during his long sojourn in that country, and with it he also learned the peculiar property it possessed namely, that the sum of the squares of the two shorter sides is equal to the square of the longest side - symbolically expressed by the formula, that the product of Osiris and Isis is Horus. This figure has been adopted in the Third Degree of Masonry, and will be there recognised as the forty- seventh problem of Euclid.

5. Now that you have been shown the Masonic trinity, Osiris, Isis and Horus of the ancient Egyptian Sun Worship religion, I will show you the Sun Worship trinities that Freemasonry recognise and you will notice that the Holy Trinity of the Holy Bible is not included as any trinity, Sun Worship or other. Encyclopaedia of Freemasonry- A. Mackey, Page 798-799 states:

"Triad. In all the ancient mythologies there were triads, which consisted of a mysterious union of three deities. Each triad was generally explained as consisting of a creator, a preserver and a destroyer. The principal heathen triads were as follows: the Egyptian, Osiris, Isis, and Horus; the Orphic, Phanes, Uranus, and Kronos; the Zoroastric, Ormuzd, Mithras, and Ahriman; the Indian, Brahma, Vishnu, and Siva; the Cabiric, Axercos, Axiokersa, and Axiokersos; the Phoenician, Ashtaroth, Milcom, and Chemos; the Tyrian, Belus, Venus and Thammuz; the Grecian Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades; the Roman, Jupiter, Neptune, and Pluto; the Eleusinian, Iacchus, Persephone, and Demeter; the Platonic, Tagathon, Nous and Psyche; the Celtic, Hu, Ceridwen, and Creiwry; the Teutonic, Fenris, Midgard, and Hela; the Gothic, Woden, Friga, and Thor; and the Scandinavians, Odin, Vile, and Ve. Even the Mexicans had their triads, which were Vitzliputzli, Kaloc, and Tescalipuca. This system of triads has, indeed, been so predominant in all the old religions, as to be invested with a mystical idea; and hence it has become the type in Masonry of the triad of three governing officers, who are to be found in almost every degree. We must, perhaps, look for the origin of the triads in mythology, as we certainly must in Masonry, to the three positions and functions of the sun. The rising sun or creator of light, the meridian sun or its preserver, and the setting sun or its destroyer.

You see, the trinity of Freemasonry is heathen and a Christian has no place within that organisation.

6. These trinities of Sun Worship line up with the trinities of the Kabalah. Morals & Dogma - A. Pike, Page 305, Quote:

"For the Kabalists, Light represents the Active Principle, and Darkness or Shadow is analogous to the Passive Principle. There- fore it was that they made of the Sun and Moon emblems of the two Divine Sexes and the two creative forces.

Morals & Dogma Page 12-13 - A. Pike, states:

"The three lesser, or the Sublime Lights, you have heard, are the Sun, the Moon, and the Master of the Lodge; and you have heard what our Brethren of the York Rite say in regard to them, and why they hold them to be Lights of the Lodge. But the Sun and Moon do inno sense light the Lodge, unless it be symbolically, and then the lights are not they, but those things of which they are the symbols. Of what they are the symbols the Mason in that.Rite is not told. Nor does the Moon in any sense rule the night with regularity. The Sun is the ancient symbol of the light- giving and generative power of the Deity. To the ancients, light was the cause of life; and God was the source from which all light flowed; the essence of Light, the Invisible Fire, developed as Flame manifested as light and splendour. The Sun was His manifestation and visible image; and the Sabaeans worshipping the Light - God, seemed to worship the Sun, in whom they saw the manifestation of the Deity. The Moon was the symbol of the passive capacity of nature to produce, the female, of which the life-giving power and energy was the male. It was the symbol of Isis. Astarte, and Artemis, or Diana. The "Master of Life" was the Supreme Deity, above both, and manifested through both; Zeus, the Son of Saturn, become King of the Gods; Horus, son of Osiris and Isis, became the Master of Life; Dionusos or Bacchus, like Mithras, become the author of Light and Life and Truth.

7. Horus, the Master of Light, the Son of the Egyptian trinity, a type of Christ, with whom the Worship Master is identified, is also represented in the Lodge by the all seeing eye. Lost Keys of Freemasonry Manly Hall, Page 48, states:

"Bearing his now flaming cross, Aradamas entered the room and instinctively gazed upward to the lofty dome. There, floating in space, far above his head, he saw a great closed eye, surrounded by fleecy clouds and rainbow colours. Long Aradamas gazed upon the wonderful sight, for he knew that it was the Eye of Horus, the All-Seeing Eye of the Gods. As he stood there, he prayed that the will of the Gods might be made known unto him and that in some way he might be found worthy to open that closed eye in the temple of the living God. Egyptian Magic, by E.A. Budge, page 55 states:

12. THE AMULET OF THE EYE OF HORUS The Eye of Horus amulet, or Utchat, is one of the commonest of all, and its use seems to have been universal at all periods. Egyptian Book of the Dead, by E.A. Budge, Page 105 - within the darkness. Hath arranged me the eye of Horus, hath nursed me

The Book of the Dead is the key to the Egyptian occult.

The origin of the All Seeing Eye is Occultic and has no place in an organisation involving Christians.

8. In the Third Degree caricature of the "Resurrection" in the Hiram abif legend, the Worshipful Master of the Lodge represents God, the giver of life, the male regenerative principle of the Sun the Egyptian Sun God, and here the Sun is called the Father. The Spirit of Masonry - Foster Baily, Page 41, states:

"Later in the third degree the strength and power of the great first aspect of Deity emerges and gives life to dead forms, and lifts with its strength the Master from the gates of death to life everlasting. Only W.M. can do this, as a symbol of God the Father, the giver of Life.

9. The trinity of the Masonic God represents the male regenerative principle attributed to the Sun, the female regenerative principle attributed to the Moon and Horus, the All Seeing Eye. This constitutes nature worship and is identical with witchcraft-who worship the same trinity in the same context.

10. The male and female principles constitute phallus worshi 9 which is another aspect of Sun Worship and is "the core doctrine. In the The Egyptian Book of the Dead, the symbol "a point within a circle" is seen often and denotes deity or the sun. It also denotes the phallus of Osiris, the Sun God of Egyptian Sun Worship. When Isis could not find the phallus of Osiris after he was murdered by Thyphon, his brother, and scattered over the earth in 14 pieces, she erected a column in the temple of Isis to represent the missing phallus of Osiris, and the point within the circle is a representation of that phallus, the male regenerative principle. Do you now see why you took an oath that you would not-be present at the making of a woman a Mason. She does not process the phallus. The point within the circle symbol is found in the Egyptian Book of the Dead and denotes the Sun at its various stages, rising, setting, etc., and Deity such as Ra or Sun Gods under different names. It also symbolises the two divine sexes. This symbol is on the wall of every regular and well governed Lodge of Master Masons. But, it is surrounded by Christian symbols and is given a nice moral explanation so as to deceive the initiate in the Blue Lodge by suggesting a Christian perspective. This is the symbol of the true Masonic God. Egyptian Book of the Dead A.E. Budge, page 123 - his rising, Tmu-Harmachis. Adored art thou [when] thy beauties are in my two eyes. of Ra, is my face open, is my heart upon its seat. An adoration of Ra in his rising in the horizon, when becometh.

Here is what the Encyclopaedia of Freemasonry - A. Mackey, Page 573 states about the "Point within the Circle."

Point Within a Circle - This is a symbol of great interest-and importance, and brings us into close connection with the early symbolism of the solar orb and the universe, which was predominant in the ancient sun-worship. The lectures of Freemasonry give what modern Monitors have made an esoteric explanation of the symbol, in telling us that the point represents an individual brother, the circle the boundary line of his duty to God and man, and the two perpendicular parallel lines the patron saints of the Order - St. John the Baptist and St. John the Evangelist.

But that this was not always its symbolic signification, we may collect from the true history of its connection with the phallus of the Ancient Mysteries. The phallus, as I have already shown under the word, was among the Egyptians the symbol of fecundity, expressed by the male, generative principle. We have seen that the phallus and the point within a circle come from the same source and must have been identical in signification. But the phallus was the symbol of fecundity, or the male generative principle, which by the ancients was supposed to be the sun (they looking to the creature and not to the Creator), because by the sun's heat and light the earth is made prolific, and its productions are brought to maturity. The point within the circle was then originally the symbol of the sun; and as the lingam of India stood in the center of the lunette, so it stands within the center of the Universe, typified by the circle, impregnating and vivifying it with its heat. And thus the astronomers have been led to adopt the same figure as their symbol of the sun.

Now it is admitted that the Lodge represents the world or the universe, and the Master and Wardens within it represent the sun in three positions. Thus we arrive at the true interpretation of the Masonic symbolism of the point within the circle. It is the same thing, but under a different form, as the Master and Wardens of a Lodge. The Master and Wardens are symbols of the sun, the Lodge of the universe, or world, just as the point is the symbol of the same sun, and the surrounding circle of the universe."

Some Masonic authorities speak of another aspect of the Masonic God, namely the Luciferian Doctrine. Lost Keys of Freemasonry Manly Hall, Page 48 states:

"When the Mason learns that the key to the warrior on the block is the proper appli- cation of the dynamo of living power, he has learned the mystery of his Craft. The seething energies of Lucifer are in his hands and before he may step onward and upward, he must prove his ability to properly apply energy.

A. Pike's speech to World Masonry in 1889 as quoted from the source below: "That which we must say to the crowd is - We worship a God but it is the God that one adores without superstition.

"To you, Sovereign Grand Inspectors General we say this, that you may repeat it to the Brethren of the 32nd, 31st and 30th degrees - The Masonic Religion should be, by all of us initiates of the high degrees, maintained in the purity of the Luciferian Doctrine."

"If Lucifer were not God, would Adonay (The God of the Christians) whose deeds prove his cruelty, perfidy and hatred of man, barbarism and repulsion for science, would Adonay and his priests, calumniate him?"

"Yes, Lucifer is God, and unfortunately Adonay is also god. For the eternal law is that there is no light without shade, no beauty without ugliness, no white without black, for the absolute can only exist as two gods; darkness being necessary for light to serve as its foil as the pedestal is necessary to the statue, and the brake to the locomotive."

"Thus, the doctrine of Satanism is a heresy; and the true and pure philosophical religion is the belief in Lucifer, the equal of Adonay; but Lucifer, God of light and God of Good, is struggling for humanity against Adonay, the God of Darkness and Evil." (Instructions to the 23 Supreme Councils of the World, Albert Pike, Grand Commander, Sovereign Pontiff of Universal Freemasonry, July 14, 1889. Recorded by A.C. De La Rive, La Femme et 1'Enfant dans la Franc-Maconnerie Universelle, page 588).

12. In the 17th degree of the Scottish Rite, the sacred word communicated to the Candidate is Abaddon. In the Satanic Bible by Anton Levay on page 145-146 Abaddon and Apollyon are one of the infernal names in Satanism. Scottish Rite Masonry Illustrated.- J. Blanchard, Vol. 1, page 453, states:

"Touch Tyler's forehead, when he answers by putting his hand on your forehead. Pass Word:- Jubulum. Sacred Word:- Abaddon.

In the Book of Revelation, during the period of the fifth seal, the locusts who came out of the abyss had, quote, Rev. 9:11 "They had as king over them the angel of the abyss whose name in Hebrew is Abaddon and in Greek, Apollyon.

Here is God's answer to the Luciferian Doctrine, from Isaiah 14:12-15 "The Word of God, the Bible, clearly puts Lucifer in his proper place, and gives God's reasons. How Art thou fallen from heaven, 0 Lucifer, son of the morning! How art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! For thou hast said in thineheart, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God; I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north. I will ascend above the clouds; I will be like the most High. Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit."

It is interesting to note that all the symbols of the Masonic Diety, the Grand Architect of the Universe, are all symbolic of occult dieties of heathen Sun Worship and are clothed in Christian moral interpretations. These interpretations give the symbols dual meanings - one for the Mason who is being deceived and one for the Mason who knows the true meaning of the Masonic religeon.

In Conclusion, if the Masonic God is :-

  • not of the Holy Bible
  • not of the Holy Trinity of the Holy Bible
  • is above all Gods of all world religions
  • of the trinities of Sun Worship and Witchcraft

then the Masonic concept of God is in direct contradiction with the God of the Holy Bible and taking oaths to the Masonic organization constitutes a denial of the true God of the Holy Bible.

I believe that a Christian who is a member of Freemasonry has done this as a result of a deception, skillfully concealed by fine sounding philosophies and the pomp and pageantry of the ritual of Freemasonry. Your eyes have been directed towards the Masonic God and taken off Jesus Christ. Y ou cannot exist with one foot in each camp. You have been deceived into worshiping nature and creation rather than the creation.

Listen to what God has to say to us in Col. 2:8 "See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive phylosophy, which depends on human tradition and the basic principles of this world rather than on Christ."

And Romans 1:25 says:

"They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshipped and served created things rather than the creator - who is forever praised, Amen.

WHAT IS THE MASONIC VIEW OF CHRIST?

An organization that claims to be a religion has to be examined by a Christian member, as to its Christology, to establish if Jesus Christ is the central figure and perfecter of the doctrine of that organization as well as of Christianity. If the Christology is defective, then the organization has no place in a Christian's life.

WHO DOES FREEMASONRY SAY CHRIST IS?

1. Morals & Dogma - A Pike, says on page 525:

"It reverences all the great reformers. It sees in Moses, the lawgiver of the Jews, in Confucius and Zoroaster, in Jesus of Nazareth, and in the Arabian Iconoclast, Great Teachers of Morality, and Eminent Reformers, if no more: and allows every brother of the Order to assign to each higher and even Divine Character as his Creed and Truth require."

Christ here, has to fall in line into the doctrine of Universalism.

2. Coil's Masonic Encyclopedia page 40, states:

"It sees in the Christ another example of the great souls, religious exemplars, and humanitarians who have appeared at intervals in the world's history and who may be understood as inter- preters of the Infinite or as those who try to relate man to God."

3. Encyclopedia of Freemasonry - A. Mackey, Page 622 states:

"The messengers, twelve in number, are supposed by the author to appear at intervals of 600 years. Thus: 1. Adam, A.M. 3000; 2. Enoch A.M. 3600; 3. Fohi, A.M. 4200; 4. Brigoo, A.M. 4800; 5. Zaratusht, A.M. 5400; 6. Thoth A.M. 6000; 7. Amosis or Moses A.M. 6600 8. Laotseu, A.M. 7200; 9. Jesus, A.M. 7800; 10.Mohammed, A.M. 8400; ll.ChengizKhan A.M. 9000 12.the twelfth messenger yet to be revealed, A.M. 9600.

If Jesus Christ is ninth in line of the twelve messengers or ascended masters, eleven of which have already appeared and one is yet to be revealed, then Jesus is not God for all time, but for his period in history. This is New Age philosophy and this philosophy reduces Jesus Christ to one of twelve religious and moral reformers. This belief in unscriptural and herisayical.

4. In the iniation of the 33 degree Scottish Rite, taken from Scottish Rite Masonry Illustrated, Vol. II, page 476- 477, states: "We have not persecuted the unfortunate nation of Judah, for having sentenced to death our beloved Sovereign, Jesus of Nazareth, the Apostle of the duties and rights of man, but we must crush forever superstition, fanaticism and intolerance. They, and not the children of Israel were guilty. Let us show them no mercy, and thereby secure the blessings of liberty of conscience. Each child of God must worship his father, according to his own conscience and enjoy those prerogatives of the heart and mind of which God alone is the Supreme Judge. We have not to avenge the murder of Jacques de Molay and the Templars, but we must never allow, if in our power to prevent it any living man to possess sufficient power to accomplish another such crime.

No man has a right to usurp a power which belongs to God alone. No man is above his brother, except by intellect, charity, good deeds and education. No man has God given authority to replace and represent him on earth, and all those who pretend to be his ministers E representatives must not be believed. Our ignorance and selfishness lone give these usurpers the power, which th wield for the gratification of their impio schemes.

In this degree, the Jews are excused for crucifying Christ and accuses Christ of trying to represent God on earth, and therfore his murder is justified. This is the central theme of Freemasonry and its purpose is to destroy Christianity which Freemasonry brands as superstition, fanaticism and intolerance. Fellow Christians, please-think seriously and pray that the Holy Spirit will help you understand and guide you.

A. Mackey, in the Encyclopedia of Freemasonry says that there is no provision for the redemption of sins in the -Masonic religion. If there is no recognition of sin there is no need for Jesus Christ. This is another result why He is referred to only as a good moral teacher and reformer, equal to Confucius, Zoroaster and Mohammad. The denial of the saving Blood of Jesus Christ is the central theme of the Masonic religion. Christ is mentioned in the so-called Christian degrees of the Scottish Rite only to support ritual, but his power is denied. This further misleads Christian members. This view is in direct opposition to @Beli@'s . Statement of Faith.

Here is what God says in the Holy Bible about His Son, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ:

John 5:23 "that all may honor the Son just as they honor the Father. He who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father, who sent him."

Matthew 28:18 "Then Jesus came and said: "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given me."

Philippians 2:9,10,11 "Therefore, God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God, the Father."

WHAT IS THE MASONIC MODE OF SALVATION?

Because Freemasonry insists in the belief in the immortality of the soul, then there has to be a mode of salvation for this soul.

WHAT DOES FREEMASONRY SAY ABOUT SALVATION?

We now know that Masonic salvation is not through the shed Blood of Jesus Christ. This stand is contrary to the Holy Bible and God condemns any other system of salvation - namely the salvation through man's own efforts through good works and self-improvement.

Let us examine the opening prayer of the 14th Degree of the Scottish Rite, Scottish Rite Masonry Illustrated, page 297-298:

"We beseech thee that our thoughts may be engaged in the grand work of our perfection, which when attained will be an ample reward for our labour... Grant that all our proceedings may tend to our glory... Bless and prosper our works, 0 Lord."

We see that this prayer is focused on:

  • our thoughts
  • our perfection
  • our labour
  • our proceedings
  • our glory
  • our works

Freemasonry denies and opposes biblical teaching.of Salvation by Grace alone through faith in Jesus Christ. As stated in Ephesians 2:8-9: "For it is by Grace you have been saved, through faith - and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God - not by works, so that no one can boast."

The first three degrees promise the candidate that God will reward him if he does good works and improves himself through knowledge. This teaches good works versus Grace. This promise is conveyed to the candidate basically through the lectures pertaining to the lambskin or white leather apron in the Blue Lodge. I will give you, here, only the lecture of the lst Degree as an example of what the apron has to do with Masonic salvation.

The Work, Page 36-37 (note - W.L.A. means White Leather Apron)

"W.M. - I now present you with a L. or W.L.A. It is an emblem of innocence and the badge of a... more ancient than the Golden Fleece or Roman Eagle, more honorable than the Star or Garter or any other Order that might be conferred on you at this or any future period by King, Prince, Potentate, or any other person, except he be a...... I trust you will wear it with equal pleasure and credit to yourself, as well as honor to the Fy. It may be, that in the coming years, upon your head may rest the laurel wreaths of victory; pendent from your breast may hang jewels fit to grace the diadem of an Eastern Potentate; nay, more than these, with light added to the coming L., your ambitious feet may tread round after round of the ladder that leads to fame in our Mystic Circle, and even the purple of the Fy, may rest upon your honored shoulders; but never again from mortal hands, never again until your enfranchised spirit shall have passed upward and inward through the pearly gates shall any honor so distinguished, so emblematical of purity and all perfection be conferred upon you as this which I. now bestow. It is yours; yours to wear throughout an honorable life, and at your death to be placed upon the coffin which shall enclose your lifeless remains and with them laid beneath the clods of the valley. Let its pure and spotless surface be to you an ever-present reminder of purity of life and rectitude of conduct, a never- ending argument for nobler deeds for higher thoughts, for greater achievements. And when at last your weary feet shall have come to the end of life's toilsome journey, and from your nerveless grasp shall drop forever the working tools of life, may the record of your life and actions be as pure and spotless as this fair emblem which I place in your Hs. to-night. And when your trembling soul shall stand naked and alone before the Great White Throne, there to receive judgment for the deeds done inth@,body, may it be your portion to hear from Him who sitteth as Judge Supreme the welcome words: Well done, good and faithful servant; Thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee. ruler over many things; Enter thou into the JOY of thy Lord."Â

Though such instruction is important to the Masonic Lodge in teaching morality, the Holy Bible rejects such teaching. Masons cannot and will not gain entrance to the Celestial Lodge above (Heaven) by their purity of life and rectitude of conduct.

The Holy Bible states in Titus 3:5 "He (God) saves us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His Mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit.

and 1 John 11-12

And the witness is this, that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have the life."

The Lodge constantly insists on imposing on the Candidate the necessity of Good Works to earn God's favor. He is even to remember that his apron is an emblem of purity of heart and conscience required to gain God's approval. But the Holy Bible clearly offers no hope in this area.

The Holy Bible says in Jeremiah 17:9-10 "The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it? I the Lord search the heart and examine the mind.

Isaiah 64:6 says: "For all of us have become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous deeds are like a filthy garment; and all of us wither like a leaf, and our iniquities, like the wind, take us away."

How about sin? The Holy Bible says we are sinners in need of a Savior. How can a man be admitted into Heaven without Jesus Christ as his Savior?

The Holy Bible says in 1 John 2:2 "He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins and not only for ours, but for the sins of the whole world."

Romans 3:23 "All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." As it is written - Romans 3'.',10-12 "There is no one righteous, not even one; there is no one who understands, no one who seeks God. All have turned away, they have together become worthless."

And 1 john 4:14-15

"To forgive our sins "the Father has sent the Son to be the Savior of the world. Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God."

Remember, there is no provision in the religion of Freemasonry for the redemption of sin.

At Masonic funeral services, the family is assured that the departed soul has gone to reside in the Celestial Lodge above. Though the Holy Bible clearly states that men's works do not account for a perfect life, the Lodge confidently states that the departed has been accepted in Heaven based on his willingne'ss to live by the truths and principles of Freemasonry. This mode of salvation is taught through all the degrees of Freemasonry from the first to the thirty third degree.

But, on what basis can the Masonic Lodge tell Masons what God will do when they die? By what authority does the Lodge so confidently assert to all who are listening that they will enter into God's presence and be accepted because of their good works? Scripture clearly teaches that this is impossible! The Bible emphasizes this again and again.

In Titus 3:5

"Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved US."

And in Romans 3:27-28, 4:6

"Where, then, is boasting? It is excluded.. For we maintain that a man is justified by faith apart from observing the law.... David says the same thing when he speaks of the blessedness of the man to whom God credits righteousness apart from works:

The Apostle Paul told Timothy in 2 Timothy 3:15

"From childhood you have known the sacred writings which are able to give you the wisdom that leads to salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus."

None will deny that a committed Mason is zealous for his God. But even more so were the Israelites of Paul's time, and notice what he said about them:

Romans 10:1-3

"Brothers, my heart's desire and prayer to God for the Israelites is that they may be saved. For I can testify about them that thev are zealous for God, but their zeal is not based on knowledge. Since they did not know the righteousness that comes from God (by faith) and sought to establish their own (by works), they did not submit to God's righteousness.

Ephesians 2:8-9

"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith - and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God - not by works, so that no one can boast."

So you see, the Bible is absolutely clear that teaching salvation by personal, merit, goodness and works is something that is utterly opposed to the will of God. Rather, salvation is by grace; it is the free gift of God, provided for humanity when Christ died and paid the penalty for our sins.

Romans 11:6

"And it (salvation is) by grace, then it is no longer by works; if it were, grace would no longer be grace."

Galatians 2:16,21

"Know that a man is not justified by observing the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ. So we, too, have put our faith in Christ Jesus that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by observing the law, because by observing the law no one will be jsutified... I do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness could be gained through the law, Christ died for nothing!

Galatians 4:21 and 3:24

"Tell me, you who want to be under the law, are you not aware of what the law says?.... So the law was put in charge to lead us to Christ that we might be justified by faith."

We know that the Masonic Lodge denies these Scriptures and continues to promise Masons that their own righteousness will save them and make them acceptable before God. For example, in the Masonic Monitor,

Masons are taught that the symbol for God is the All-Seeing Eye. And when they teach about God, they tell Masons that God will reward them according to their works: "(The) All-seeing Eye... pervades the inmost recesses of the human Heart, and will reward us according to our merits (works)" Masons are also taught that they are to devote all their energies to attaining this merit before God so that they will be rewarded with heaven. All of the examples from Masonic ritual cited above are why Masonic authorities everywhere - including Coil & Mackey teach that men are saved by their good works. Masonic publications agree. In the Pennsylvania Freemason, Pennsylvania Grand Chaplain Charles H. Lacquement writes, Quote: (February, 1989) Freemasonry has been teaching for centuries... the capability of man to reach a higher level of perfection through education and training ... The philosophy of Freemasonry is to make man the master of his own destiny, to show him that there also is an immortality on earth brought by his actions; that he can, through his own efforts.... inscribe his name in the "Book of Life."

The quotation above gives you the teaching of Freemasonry in a nutshell. To die without Christ is the fruit and real testimony of Freemasonry. This will result in a separation from God, our heavenly Father, the true God.

In conclusion, here are some thoughts on what Freemasonry makes a Christian do; from "The Secret Teachings of the Masonic Lodge", John Ankerberg and John Waldon - Pg. 189-191 The Bible says, "if we confess our sins, he is faithful and ust and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness" (1John 1:9) It is the duty of every Christian to break and renounce any evil oath that binds him to disobeying God. Swearing to uphold Masonic doctrines is sinful and unscriptural, and should not be a part of the Christian's life for the following reasons:

1. Masonry makes a Christian man swear, in God's name, to doctrines that God has pronounced false and sinful. For example, the Lodge teaches the false doctrine of "the Fatherhood of God."

In John 14:12, Jesus says: "Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God."

2. Masonry makes Christian men swear to accept the lie that salvation can be gained by man's good works. But the bible contradicts Masonry.

In Titus 3:5, God says to us:

"Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved US.

3. Masonry makes Christian men swear to accept and promote the lie that Jesus is just one of many equally revered prophets. Each candidate does this when he agrees that all religions can lead a man to God. But the Bible records Jesus words in contradiction to Masonry:

He says in John 14:6

"I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."

4. Masonry makes Christian men swear they will remain silent in the Lodge and not talk of Christ, whereas Jesus commanded every Christian to go into all the world and be a witness for Him. Jesus said in:

Acts 1:8

"And ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth."

5. Masonry makes Christians swear that they are approaching the Lodge in spiritual darkness and ignorance, When the Bible says Christians are already in the light, children of light, and are indwelt by the Light of the world Jesus Christ.

The Holy Bible says in Ephesians 5:8

"For you were once darkness, but now (the moment you received Christ as Savior and Lord) you are light in the Lord."

6. By demanding that Christians take the Masonic oath, Masonry leads Christians into committing blasphemy and taking the name of the Lord in vain. As a Christian he has sworn unlawfully to things God has forbidden him to swear to.

God says in Exodus 20:7

"You shall not misuse the name of the Lord, your God, for the Lord will not hold anyone guiltless who misuses his name."

And in Leviticus 5:5

"If anyone is guilty in any of these ways, it he must confess in what way he has sinned..

And in 1 John 1:9

"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness."

7. Masonry makes Christians falsely swear that the G.A.O.T.U., whom Masonry claims is the true God of the universe, is present in all other religions.

But the Holy Bible says in Isaiah 42:8

"I am the Lord; that is my name! I will not give my glory to another or my praise to idols." Note: the G.A.O.T.U. is the Masonic God called the Grand Architect of the Universe.

8. Masonry makes Christians falsely swear to the teaching that true worship can be offered in the Lodge to God without the mediatorship of Jesus. This is against what is taught in Hebrews 9:15

But the Holy bible says-in 1 Timothy 2:5-6

"For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all men - the testimony given in its proper time."

9. By swearing the Masonic oath and participating in the doctrines of the Lodge, Christians are perpetuating a false gospel to other Lodge members, who look only to Masonry's plan of salvation to get them to heaven.

The Holy Bible says in Galatians 1:8

"Even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let him be eternally condemned."

10. According to the Bible, the Christian's spirit, mind, and body are the temple of the Holy Spirit, "bought with a price" (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). By taking the Masonic obligations he is agreeing to allow the pollution of his mind, spirit, and body by those who serve false gods and believe false doctrines.

The Holy Bible says to us in 2 Corinthians 6:14-16a

"Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness? What harmony is there between Christ and Belial? What does a believer have in common with an unbeliever? What agreement is there between the temple of God and Idols? For we are the temple of the living God."

God's Word instructs every Christian to break and renounce any evil oath that binds him in sin.

Ephesians 5:11

"Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them."

Every Christian Lodge member should renounce his Masonic oath and confess it as a sin to his Lord. The Lord promises to forgive each one who will do so.

1 John 1:9 says:

"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins."

In this way the Christian will stop adding his support to the sins of the Lodge, whose false religion results in the damnation of so many souls.

My position is that it is impossible for a Freemason to accept the Christian Statement of Faith. I have quoted, below, the Statement of Faith for your use.

A. We believe in one God eternally existing in three persons, God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit.

B. We believe in the Bible as the inspired, infallible and inerrant Word of God.

C. We believe that man was created in the image of God; that he sinned and thereby incurred, not only physical death, but also spiritual death which is separation from God; and that all human beings are born with a sinful nature and in the case of those who reach moral responsibility are sinners in thought, word and deed, and that all who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ are justified on the merit of His shed blood.

D. We believe in the Lord Jesus Christ as the eternal Son of God and that He was born of the Virgin Mary and that he died for our sins according to the Scriptures, as a substitutionary sacrifice; that He was buried and rose again the third day; that he ascended into Heaven and that He now lives there for us, as our High Priest and only Advocate and that He will personally come again.

E. We believe in the bodily resurrection of the just and the unjust, the eternal blessedness of the saved and the endless lake of fire for the unsaved. (Revelation 20:10, 14-15)

It is impossible for a Christian to remain in Masonry because if he accepts the Statement of Faith of a Believer, he cannot remain with one foot in the Christian camp and one foot in the Masonic doctrine of darkness.

I have serious concern for my Masonic Christian brothers and I have researched this script for the purpose of witnessing to them. You see, I was a Freemason for 28 years and I also had to choose whom I will serve.
