I have written to him the great things of My law, but they were counted as a strange thing.

Then said Jesus unto His disciples, "Verily I say unto you, that a rich man shall hardly enter into the Kingdom of Heaven.

When His disciples heard it, they were exceedingly amazed, saying, "Who then can be saved?"

And the disciples were astonished at His words, but Jesus answered again and said unto them, "Children, how hard is it for them that trust in riches to enter into the Kingdom of God!

And they were astonished beyond measure, saying among themselves, "Who then can be saved?"

Many of His disciples therefore, when they had heard this, said, "This is a hard saying; who can hear it?"

Then the Jews said among themselves, "Whither will he go that we shall not find him? Will he go unto the dispersed among the Gentiles, and teach the Gentiles?

What manner of saying is this that he said, `Ye shall seek me and shall not find me; and where I am, thither ye cannot come'?"

For the preaching of the cross is foolishness to those who perish; but unto us who are saved, it is the power of God.

but we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumbling block, and unto the Greeks foolishness,

But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness unto him; neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

of whom we have many things to say, which are hard to utter seeing ye are dull of hearing.

wherein they think it strange that you run not with them to the same dissolute excess, speaking evil of you,

And they were all amazed and were in doubt, saying one to another, "What meaneth this?"

Now while Peter wondered to himself what this vision which he had seen could mean, behold, the men who had been sent from Cornelius had made inquiry for Simon's house and stood before the gate,

And they kept that saying to themselves, questioning one another what "rising from the dead" should mean.
