Remember Lot's wife.
Genesis 19:17
And it came to pass, when they had brought them forth outside, that he said, "Escape for thy life! Look not behind thee, neither stay thou in all the plain. Escape to the mountain, lest thou be consumed!"
Genesis 19:26
But his wife looked back from behind him, and she became a pillar of salt.
1 Corinthians 10:6-12
6
Now these things were our examples, to the intent that we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted.
7
Neither be ye idolaters, as were some of them; as it is written: "The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play."
8
Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them committed -- and three and twenty thousand fell in one day.
9
Neither let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted -- and were destroyed by serpents.
10
Neither should ye murmur, as some of them also murmured -- and were destroyed by the destroyer.
11
Now all these things happened unto them by way of example, and are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.
12
Therefore let him that thinketh he standeth, take heed lest he fall.
Hebrews 10:38
Now the just shall live by faith; but if any man draw back, My soul shall have no pleasure in him."
Hebrews 10:39
But we are not of those who draw back unto perdition, but of those who believe, to the saving of the soul.
2 Peter 2:18-22
18
For when they speak great swelling words of vanity, they allure through the lusts of the flesh and through much wantonness those who had clean escaped from those who live in error.
19
While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption; for by whom a man is overcome, by the same is he brought into bondage.
20
For if, after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.
21
For it would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they had known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.
22
But it has happened unto them according to the true proverb: "The dog turns to his own vomit again," and, "the sow that was washed, to her wallowing in the mire."
