And Jesus said unto them, "All ye shall be offended because of Me this night, for it is written: `I will smite the Shepherd, and the sheep shall be scattered.'

"He hath put my brethren far from me, and mine acquaintances are verily estranged from me.

My kinsfolk have failed, and my familiar friends have forgotten me.

My loved ones and my friends stand aloof from my sore, and my kinsmen stand afar off.

Thy wrath lieth hard upon me, and Thou hast afflicted me with all Thy waves. Selah

Thou hast put away mine acquaintances far from me; Thou hast made me an abomination unto them. I am shut up, and I cannot come forth;

Lover and friend hast Thou put far from me, and mine acquaintances into darkness.

"I have trodden the wine press alone; and of the people there was none with Me. For I will tread them in Mine anger and trample them in My fury; and their blood shall be sprinkled upon My garments, and I will stain all My raiment.

Behold, the hour cometh, yea, is now come, that ye shall be scattered, every man to his own, and shall leave Me alone. And yet I am not alone, because the Father is with Me.

Jesus answered, "I have told you that I am He. If therefore ye seek Me, let these go their way,"

At my first answer no man stood with me, but all men forsook me. I pray God that it may not be laid to their charge.
