And if ye will receive it, this is Elijah, who was to come.

"Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD.

And some of those who stood by, when they heard it, said, "Behold, he calleth Elijah."

And one ran and filled a sponge full of vinegar, and put it on a reed and gave it to Him to drink, saying, "Let him alone. Let us see whether Elijah will come to take him down."
