And Eliab, his eldest brother, heard when he spoke unto the men; and Eliab's anger was kindled against David and he said, "Why camest thou down hither? And with whom hast thou left those few sheep in the wilderness? I know thy pride and the willfulness of thine heart, for thou hast come down that thou mightest see the battle."

And David said, "What have I now done? Is there not a cause?"

Again, I considered all travail and every right work for which a man is envied by his neighbor. This is also vanity and vexation of spirit.

And there were some who were indignant within themselves and said, "Why was this ointment wasted?

Then one of His disciples, Judas Iscariot, Simon's son who was to betray Him, said,

This he said, not that he cared for the poor, but because he was a thief, and had the money bag and took what was put therein.

But he said, "Ye are idle, ye are idle! Therefore ye say, `Let us go and do sacrifice to the LORD.'

saying, "When will the new moon be gone, that we may sell corn? And the Sabbath, that we may set forth wheat, making the ephah small and the shekel great, and falsifying the balances by deceit,

"Thus speaketh the LORD of hosts, saying: This people say, `The time has not come, the time that the LORD'S house should be built.'"

"Is it time for you, O ye, to dwell in your ceilinged houses, and this house lie waste?"

Ye offer polluted bread upon Mine altar; and ye say, `Wherein have we polluted Thee?' In that ye say: `The table of the LORD is contemptible.'

"And now, I pray you, beseech God that He will be gracious unto us. This has been by your hand: Will He regard your persons?" saith the LORD of hosts.
