What could have been done more to My vineyard than I have not done in it? Why, when I looked for it to bring forth good grapes, brought it forth wild grapes?

"And now, I will tell you what I will do to My vineyard: I will take away the hedge thereof, and it shall be eaten up; and break down the wall thereof, and it shall be trodden down.

And now also the ax is laid unto the root of the trees. Every tree therefore which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down and cast into the fire."

He spoke also this parable: "A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard, and he came and sought fruit thereon, and found none.

And he answering said unto him, `Lord, let it alone this year also, till I shall dig around it and dung it.

Every branch in Me that beareth not fruit He taketh away; and every branch that beareth fruit, He purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.

If a man abide not in Me, he is cast forth as a branch and is withered; and men gather them and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.

But that which beareth thorns and briars is rejected and is nigh unto being cursed, whose end is to be burned.
