The hand of the diligent shall exercise rule, but the slothful shall be under tribute.

He that tilleth his land shall have plenty of bread, but he that followeth after vain persons shall have poverty enough.

For God is not unrighteous so as to forget your work and labor of love, which ye have shown toward His name, in that ye have ministeredto the saints, and do minister.

And we desire that every one of you show the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end,

He that winketh with the eye causeth sorrow, but a prating fool shall fall.

For a dream cometh through a multitude of business, and a fool's voice is known by a multitude of words.

For even when we were with you, this we commanded you: that if any would not work, neither should he eat.

Now those who are such, we command and exhort by our Lord Jesus Christ that they work with quietness and eat their own bread.

And besides they learn to be idle, wandering about from house to house; and not only idle, but tattlers also and busybodies, speaking things which they ought not.
