"Surely every man walketh in a vain show; surely they are disquieted in vain; he heapeth up riches, and knoweth not who shall gather them.

How many are the days of Thy servant? When wilt Thou execute judgment on them that persecute me?

"O remember that my life is wind; mine eye shall no more see good.

"Now my days are swifter than a courier; they flee away, they see no good.

They are passed away as the swift ships, as the eagle that hasteneth to the prey.

Remember, I beseech Thee, that Thou hast made me as the clay. And wilt Thou bring me into dust again?

Man is like vanity; his days are as a shadow that passeth away.

"Man that is born of a woman is of few days and full of trouble.

whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.
