God setteth the solitary in families, He bringeth out those who are bound with chains; but the rebellious dwell in a dry land.

And Abraham was a hundred years old when his son Isaac was born unto him.

And she said, "Who would have said unto Abraham that Sarah should have given children suck? For I have borne him a son in his old age."

And Isaac entreated the LORD for his wife, because she was barren; and the LORD was entreated by him, and Rebekah his wife conceived.

And God remembered Rachel, and God hearkened to her and opened her womb.

And she conceived and bore a son, and said, "God hath taken away my reproach."

They that were full have hired out themselves for bread, and they that were hungry ceased hungering, so that the barren hath borne seven, and she that hath many children is waxed feeble.

"Sing, O barren, thou that didst not bear! Break forth into singing and cry aloud, thou that didst not travail with child! For more are the children of the desolate than the children of the married wife," saith the LORD.

But the angel said unto him, "Fear not, Zacharias, for thy prayer is heard, and thy wife Elizabeth shall bear thee a son, and thou shalt call his name John.

For he shall be great in the sight of the Lord, and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink, and he shall be filled with the Holy Ghost even from his mother's womb.

For it is written: "Rejoice, thou barren that bearest not; break forth and cry, thou that travailest not; for the desolate hath many more children than she who hath a husband."
